Dr. Bhama Venkataramani

As Dean, Academics and Administration, she contributes to policy framing and monitoring outcomes desired and articulated by the University authorities. Towards this end, she works towards establishing both processes and a collegial work environment that would lead to improvement in the quality of academic delivery at the University
She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from University of Pune with over 30 years’ experience in teaching and academic administration.
Her research interests revolve around financial inclusion and inclusive education and she has been publishing papers on related topics in indexed journals. She has to her credit a monograph and nine book chapters including four textbooks prescribed for graduate students of University of Pune and one for students of the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education.. She has supervised three doctoral students to completion and award of Ph.D. degree and three more are currently pursuing Ph.D. under her guidance.
As Dean- Faculty of Management, SIU from 2012 to 2015, she has contributed to quality enhancement in Academic processes by being actively involved in the processes of introducing a course catalogue for the University and revamping the method of curriculum design for the Faculty of Management. She was also responsible for the design and delivery of the PhD coursework for the scholars of this faculty.
She has been a member of the Board of Studies for the Department of Banking of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce and of IndSearch- both autonomous institutes, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. She is a member of the Board of Studies for Finance courses under the Faculty of Management, Symbiosis Skills and Open University, Pune. She is a member of the Academic Council of Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science – an autonomous college, affiliated to the University of Goa and that of the All India Institute of Local Self Government, Pune. She is also member of the Advisory Committee of School for Securities Education (SSE) a constituent of National Institute of Securities Markets, Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
As member of Board of Management of SIU, member of the Board of University Development, SIU, and member of the Planning and Monitoring Board of SIU, she brings to the table, her rich experience in teaching and administration.
She was the founder director of two institutes of Symbiosis International University namely, Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies- Pune (2004) and Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance (2010)
She has represented Symbiosis on several international delegations to Syria, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Hungary, Sri Lanka and Australia.
